The Daybreak is a contemporary mountain lodge with strong Craftsman and timber-frame roots. Warm horizontal wood siding and timber brackets sit atop a rugged stone base; a dark standing-seam metal roof, stone chimney, and a circular gable window give the elevation both grounded presence and a distinctive silhouette. The composition reads as rustic yet refined—exactly the kind of house that belongs among trees, with a lawn, flowering shrubs, and a path for evening walks with the dogs.
Main Level
You arrive via a short walk and a modest set of steps into an 8×6 entry that opens to an 8×8 foyer with a coat closet. From there the plan immediately expands into the 19×17 great room. This is the social heart of the house: a story-and-a-half volume (in the original spirit of the plan) with a fireplace on the end wall, large windows toward the porch, and an easy visual connection to the adjacent 15×14 kitchen/dining space.
The kitchen/dining room is compact but efficient and opens directly onto a 13×12 terrace—ideal for a grill, morning coffee, or sliding the dinner conversation outdoors. A generous 19×12 covered porch wraps the great-room side, creating a true outdoor living room that stays usable in light rain or strong sun. Laundry and a convenient bath sit between the kitchen and the master suite, so everyday chores stay out of the main living flow.
The 15×14 master bedroom occupies the quiet end of the main floor, complete with its own bath and closet. Putting the primary suite on the first floor is a practical, family-friendly revision: parents have privacy and one-level living while still remaining close to the kitchen and great room.
Upper Level
A straightforward stair rises from the kitchen/laundry zone into a compact hall. Two nearly identical 15×14 bedrooms sit at opposite ends.
